Nisei Week Japanese Festival’s Grand Parade is set to take place at 4 p.m. on August 11, 2024, in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles. The festival, which includes a variety of events, will run from August 10 to August 18 this year. The 82nd Nisei Week events will feature special cultural activities, entertainment, and exhibits throughout Little Tokyo.

Some of the activities to look forward to include the Ventura County Fair, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary and will be running from today until August 11. The fair will have various attractions, such as commercial and exhibit buildings, a barn, and a carnival. Admission is $20, with discounts available for seniors and children. Additionally, there will be concerts, a rodeo show, and a scavenger hunt for Black-owned businesses in the Los Angeles area.

For those interested in dancing, the Music Center’s Dance DTLA event offers free dance lessons with expert instructors and music by DJs. The upcoming sessions will feature Hip-Hop and Disco themes, with bonus lessons in K-Pop and House Dance, respectively. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event.

In addition to these events, there will be a Taiko Gathering at the Japanese American Community and Cultural Center, featuring performances by local Japanese drum groups. The festival will culminate with a closing ceremony and ”Ondo Street Dance Party” on August 18.
